UDL Webinar – Enhancing Learning Capacity: Supporting Executive Functions
Wednesday, August 28, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
FreeJoin us in the viewing of a webinar hosted by Jennifer Pusateri, exploring the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Guideline, Executive Functions. Since COVID-19, many students consistently encounter difficulties with motivation, focus, time management, planning, and organization. Poor executive functioning is likely to blame. A large body of research has shown that stress, trauma, anxiety, and depression are widely known to compromise executive functioning (which includes self-regulation). While we can’t directly remove things like stress or trauma from our students’ plates, there are some adjustments we can make that will help remove learning barriers for students. This session will provide a brief overview of executive functioning, connections to the Executive Functions UDL guideline, and many strategies for implementing these supports in your course.
This webinar is part of UDL Godwin University’s series, 9 in 9: Universal Design for Learning. We will host a viewing party in Howe Library, room 303 at 2:00pm, followed by a half hour discussion starting at 3:00pm. You are invited to join us virtually or in person.
