FreeThis is one of a series of short events called Sound (Teaching) Bites. In this session, we will discuss how thinking about your classroom as a stage and your teaching as a performance can help increase engagement in large-enrollment courses. We’ll also discuss how to use connections to pop culture to enliven your course, and humanize yourself and your course material.

This Teaching Sound Bites series will offer quick opportunities to learn some new, concrete strategies to incorporate active learning or promote student engagement in your teaching. Each Sound (Teaching) Bite will start at noon and open with a 15-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute follow-up conversation; participants can attend in-person or via webinar. The series draws on presenters from a variety of departments and offices at UVM.
