UDL Webinar – Learning In Action: Navigating and Responding

Wednesday, September 25, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

Join us in the viewing of a webinar hosted by Robert LeGary and Diana LaRocco as they explore the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Guideline, Physical Action. Providing options for physical action isn’t simply about technological wizardry; it’s about human-centered design. We consider the needs of learners first and then engineer the environment to support them. This might involve incorporating assistive technologies, offering different seating arrangements, providing manipulatives for hands-on learning, or encouraging movement breaks during lessons. To help students navigate and respond within a learning experience, it is essential to continuously reflect on curricular goals, assessments, learning methods, materials, and the environment. Together, we will explore the iterative process of teaching actions deliberately focused on addressing learner variability and creating an inclusive and exciting performance of knowledge.

This webinar is part of UDL Godwin University’s series, 9 in 9: Universal Design for Learning. We will host a viewing party in Howe Library, room 303 at 2:00pm, followed by a half hour discussion starting at 3:00pm. You are invited to join us virtually or in person.
